Incidents

Police were called to 605 W. Kiehl Avenue where a tractor-trailer was turning around at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and knocked down some power lines. A nearby house had some of the lines loosen its gutters.

June 7

Charged

Rex Davis of Benton was charged with theft by receiving (B felony), false evidence of registration (D felony), two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and no proof of insurance. He was stopped by police driving along Highway 107.

Amanda Black of Little Rock was served several outstanding warrants after she was stopped by police and searched. During the pat down, she was found with five pills of her husband’s in her pocket; the pills were placed into evidence and then destroyed.

Carmen Earnhert of Sherwood was charged with two counts of aggravated assault when the 35-year-old woman threatened a couple in their 50s with a wooden club on Apple Valley Road.

Autumn Hughes of Benton was cited for improper use of tags after her vehicle was stopped on Willow Grove Road.

Incidents

Paul Scott of Sherwood told police that someone broke into his truck while it was parked at North Quarter Apartments, stealing a $800 stereo and causing $200 in damage on the driver’s side door.

Police investigated at 2:44 a.m. alarms sounding at the Regions Bank’s branch on East Kiehl Avenue. When police went inside the branch, they found the vault door unlocked. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Thefts

Amy Teaster of Sherwood said her wallet containing $78 was stolen in the leasing office of the Links Apartment complex on Brookswood Drive.

June 6

Incidents

Police found a 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 on Roundtop Road that had been reported stolen in Little Rock.

Abundant Life Schools on Highway 107 reported that an unknown person came during the night, broke into the office and opened several filing cabinets. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Vandals flipped over benches and trash cans at the T-ball fields off of Dee Hudson Drive, and caused $100 in damage to a soap dispenser and light bulbs in the restroom area.

An unknown person tried to steal a 1988 Chevy pickup owned by Arkansas Gutter Company while it was parked at the company’s office on Highway 107. Damage totaling $200 were caused when someone broke into it.

Accidents

James Gilbert of Cabot was eastbound on the Kiehl Avenue overpass when his vehicle struck the front bumper of another vehicle driven by Andrea Ross of Sherwood. No injuries were reported and Gilbert was cited for running a stop sign.

Christy Fulton of Sherwood said she was stopped on the Kiehl Avenue overpass in traffic, facing north, when someone struck her car’s bumper and caused $500 in damage. The other vehicle drove off.

Jessie High of Lonoke was leaving the parking lot of Kennedy Heating and Air on Highway 107, headed northbound, when a car driven by Teerether Lee-Johnson of Little Rock suddenly stopped. High’s vehicle struck the rear of Johnson’s vehicle. There were no injuries. High was found at fault for following too closely.

Sherwood Police Reports: Week of June 14, 2007

Incidents

Police found a $150 bicycle along the side of Warden Road at Evans Motors. It was taken to police headquarters.

Accidents

Kelly Ann Stevens, a recruiter for the Arkansas Army National Guard, said her government vehicle was damaged by an unknown person while it was parked outside of the 8000 block of Highway 107. Approximately $500 of damage was done to the passenger side.

June 4

Incidents

Consander Schaab said he heard a loud sound outside his Austin Point home at 5 p.m., looked outside, and discovered someone had broken his $450 brick mailbox.

Accidents

Charlie Martin of Jacksonville said someone caused $300 in damage to his vehicle’s passenger side door while it was parked at Arvest Bank on Highway 107.

Cynthia Jones of North Little Rock said her vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Highway 107 and Maryland Avenue when a vehicle driven Amanda Hulen of Sherwood struck the rear of hers. Hulen was found at fault for following too close and was cited for failure to register.

Charged

Erich Boone of Cabot was charged with fleeing and reckless driving after police stopped his vehicle on Warden Road when they saw it speeding.

Ayonna Turner of Sherwood was charged with obstructing government operations, disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest after police went to her Manson Road apartment to investigate a loud noise complaint.

June 3

Thefts

National Home Center on Landers Road reported that an unknown person stole a $200 ceiling fan from a tent in the parking lot. Store personnel asked the unknown man for his receipt, but he jumped into his vehicle and sped off.

Accidents

Gabriel Ward of Sherwood said he was turning right from Brookswood Drive onto Warden Road when his vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle driven by Gary Sanderson of Ward. No one reported injuries and no damage was reported. Sanderson was found to be at fault for the accident.

Charged

Timothy Baxter of Sherwood was charged with public intoxication and unsafe driving, and was given a verbal warning for allegedly traveling left of center, after police stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Indianhead Drive and Lucy Lane.

Aaron Torres of Sherwood was charged with possession of prescription medication without a prescription (C felony) and driving on a suspended license. The charges resulted after police observed him fail to use a turn signal when turning northbound on Landers Road.
